Youth Empowerment + Engagement

There comes a time in every kid's life when they want to venture out of their homes and get connected to the people who live around them. In fact this is a natural and critical part of a young person's development. They can either find opportunities for positive interactions or negative ones. The more youth feel like they belong to the community and can contribute to it, the stronger our community becomes.

We know the systems at play don't benefit everyone equally. So, we're placing youth of color at the center of creating this new Beloved Community culture, where their success is supported by the neighborhood around them.

Projects in all four seasons. In the Powderhorn, Central, Bancroft & Bryant neighborhoods of Minneapolis, youth connect to their environment and engage in meaningful, skill-building projects throughout the year. All youth participants earn paychecks or stipends, which provide much needed income.
